Submission Guidelines

A guide for authors preparing manuscripts for 'The SocPro Journal'.

Thank you for considering 'The SocPro Journal' for your work. To ensure a smooth and efficient review process, we ask that you please read and follow these guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript.

1. Manuscript Preparation

  • File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx).
  • Length: Articles should typically be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Formatting: Text should be double-spaced, using a 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins on all sides.
  • Title Page: Include a separate title page with the manuscript title, all author names and affiliations, contact information for the corresponding author, and a brief author biography.
  • Abstract and Keywords: The manuscript should include an abstract of 150-250 words and 4-6 keywords that represent the main themes of your paper.
  • Citation Style: All citations and references must follow the American Sociological Association (ASA) style guide. Please refer to the latest edition.
  • Anonymization: To facilitate a double-blind peer review, please remove all identifying information from the main manuscript file, including author names, affiliations, and any self-references that could reveal your identity.
  • Tables and Figures: All tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and include a clear title. They should be placed at the end of the manuscript, with their intended placement indicated in the text (e.g., "[Table 1 here]").
  • Language: All submissions must be in English. Please ensure your manuscript is proofread for clarity, grammar, and spelling before submission.

2. The Peer-Review Process

'The SocPro Journal' uses a double-blind peer-review process. This means that both the reviewers' and authors' identities are concealed from each other to ensure an unbiased evaluation.

  1. Initial Screening: The editorial team first reviews each submission to ensure it meets the journal's scope and formatting guidelines.
  2. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers.
  3. Review and Decision: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and clarity. Based on their feedback, the editor will make one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
  4. Revisions: If revisions are requested, authors will receive constructive feedback from the reviewers to help improve their manuscript.

3. Ethical Standards

  • Originality and Plagiarism: All submitted work must be original and not have been published elsewhere. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen submissions.
  • Authorship: All individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research should be listed as authors.
  • Data and Research Ethics: Authors must confirm that their research complies with all relevant ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent from human subjects.
